Dark Matter and Cosmic Rays from Light Gauginos
نویسنده
چکیده
An attractive class of SUSY-breaking mechanisms predicts a photino mass of order 1 GeV. Relic photinos can naturally account for the observed dark matter. Detection of these light photinos is discussed and contrasted with conventional WIMPs. In this scenario the gluino mass is about 100 MeV. The lightest gluinocontaining baryon could account for the recently observed ultra-high energy cosmic rays, which violate the GZK bound.

Cosmic Rays from Leptophilic Dark Matter Decay via Kinetic Mixing
If interpreted in terms of decaying dark matter, the steep rise in the positron fraction of cosmic rays above 10GeV, as observed by the PAMELA experiment, suggests an underlying production mechanism that favors leptonic channels. We consider a scenario where a portion of the dark matter is made of the gauginos of an unbroken hidden-sector U(1)X , which interact with the visible sector only thro...

Gauginos may be nearly massless at tree level, with loop corrections giving a gluino mass of order 100 MeV and a photino mass of order 1 GeV. Relic photinos can naturally account for the observed dark matter, but their detection is more difficult than for conventional WIMPs. The lightest gluino-containing baryon could account for the recently observed ultra-high energy cosmic rays, which violat...

Clusters of galaxies have not yet been detected at gamma-ray frequencies; however, the recently launched Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope, formerly known as GLAST, could provide the first detections in the near future. Clusters are expected to emit gamma rays as a result of (1) a population of high-energy primary and re-accelerated secondary cosmic rays fueled by structure formation and merger s...

متن کاملNeutrinos from the Annihilation or Decay of Superheavy Relic Dark Matter Particles
In light of the mounting evidence that the highest energy cosmic rays are dominated by protons and not gammarays, we discuss the prospect that these cosmic rays are generated in the decay or annihilation of superheavy relic particles. We calculate the high energy neutrino spectrum which results and normalize our results to the ultrahigh energy cosmic ray spectrum. We show that most scenerios ar...
